Upon release, Metal Gear Survive received a mixed reception from critics. Pre-release reception of the game was generally negative, in response to its design and recent business decisions from Konami.
The game takes place between the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and follows the Captain, an MSF soldier who enters a parallel dimension and establishes a local command center to unravel the mysteries of a strange virus that turns people into zombie-like creatures. It is the first Metal Gear game to be developed following the series' creator Hideo Kojima's departure from Konami in late 2015, and the first since 1990's Snake's Revenge to be made without Kojima's input. It was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in February. If you're offline there is no way you can play this game alone or in a co-op with friends.Metal Gear Survive is a 2018 survival game developed by Konami Digital Entertainment and published by Konami. The biggest disadvantage is that Metal Gear Survive requires a continued Internet connection. The Combat expects you to show off melee skills and each weapon has its own move sets for you to learn. Each title is self-explanatory and each of them leans toward a tower-defense game type more than on anything else. You're able to customize your playable character any way you want and embark on one of the following game modes: Exploration, Base Management, Defense Missions, and Combat. The learning curve is steep and lacks explanations in some life-or-death situations. The game mechanics seem to involve a lot of grinds as you need meticulously collect a lot of materials and craft various traps, weapons, and fortifications.
Anyhow, Konami decided to release a co-op survival crafting game set in the well-known universe. The reason for that might involve the sudden departure of MGS's spiritual originator Hideo Kojima. This game greatly differs from the original game series. Metal Gear Survive is a spin-off of a famous MGS5.
